Explanation of License Notice

NodeBrain is distributed under the terms of the MIT License or the NodeBrain License as indicated by the above notice placed at the top of files. The NodeBrain License is intended to be functionally equivalent to both an MIT License and a 2-clause BSD license. It borrows wording from both of these licenses and the ISC license to resolve ambiguities identified by the FSF. The disclaimer is borrowed from the Apache License, Version 2.0, because it is short.

As a license functionally equivalent to an MIT and 2-clause BSD license, the NodeBrain License is intended to be an OSI compliant open source license compatible with GPLv2. However, since "enhancements" to the wording could have an unintended consequence creating incompatibility, and because GPLv2 compatibility has not been assessed by the FSF, or compliance assessed by the OSI, you may elect to use the MIT License instead.
